Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday said there is no shortage of cow ghee for preparing the Srivari Laddu prasadam, dismissing viral social media claims that laddu preparation at Tirumala had been disrupted. The clarification came after a video of an accident involving a ghee tanker circulated online, with posts claiming that the tanker was carrying ghee meant for the temple and that its spill had caused a shortage affecting the preparation of the famed prasadam.

In a statement, the temple body urged devotees not to believe “false propaganda” and said adequate stocks of cow ghee are available to continue laddu preparation and distribution without interruption.
TTD said the ghee required for preparing the Srivari Laddu prasadam is secured through a three-tier procurement system, under which supplies are sourced from three separate firms.
The trust said this system ensures that the supply chain remains stable even if an unforeseen disruption affects one supplier. “Instead of depending on a single firm, ghee is procured from three different companies so that supply continues without interruption,” the statement said.
TANKER ACCIDENT DID NOT AFFECT SUPPLIES
TTD confirmed that a tanker belonging to Indapur Dairy, which was transporting ghee to Tirumala, recently met with an accident near Kondapur in Kadapa district.
However, the temple authority said the incident has not affected ghee availability, as supplies from the other two firms are continuing as scheduled.
PRASAD PREPARATIONS CONTINUE NORMALLY
According to TTD, around seven lakh Srivari Laddu Prasadams are currently available for distribution to devotees, indicating that both preparation and supply remain unaffected.
The temple body added that with pilgrim numbers expected to rise during summer, advance arrangements have already been made to ensure uninterrupted laddu production.
Regular maintenance of machinery and conveyor belts at the laddu preparation unit, known as the Potu, is also being carried out periodically to maintain smooth operations.
TTD said claims that the temple has run out of ghee or that Srivari sevas and laddu preparation have been disrupted are misleading and could hurt the sentiments of devotees, reiterating that the preparation and distribution of the Srivari Laddu prasadam continue smoothly.
