Monday is shaping up as a bright and pleasant day. Adelaide can expect sunny conditions with a top of 27°C after a cool morning low of 13°C. Southeasterly winds around 15 to 20km/h will shift southeast to southwesterly during the early afternoon before tending easterly in the evening.
Fire danger is rated Moderate in the Mount Lofty Ranges, while the Adelaide Metropolitan district has no fire rating. Sun protection is recommended from 9:50am to 5pm, with the UV Index expected to reach 9 (Very High).
Tuesday will turn warmer with another sunny day and a maximum of 32°C following a minimum of 15°C. Light winds will become northwesterly to southwesterly during the afternoon before easing in the evening. UV levels will climb even higher, with sun protection advised from 9:40am to 5pm and a Very High UV Index of 10.
Looking further ahead, the week will start settled before a midweek change arrives. A high pressure system east of Tasmania is currently extending a ridge over South Australia, keeping conditions stable through Monday and Tuesday. A cold front developing in the Bight is expected to cross the state during Wednesday and Thursday, bringing showers.
Adelaide’s forecast reflects that change, with a possible shower developing Wednesday (30°C) followed by showers and a cooler 23°C on Thursday. Conditions should ease into partly cloudy skies on Friday with a top of 25°C, before warmer temperatures return across the weekend.
Elsewhere in the state, flood warnings remain in place for inland rivers. Elevated water levels continue along the Warburton River and lower Cooper Creek near Innamincka as floodwaters move downstream from Queensland. Authorities warn many roads and river crossings remain affected, particularly near Birdsville and surrounding catchments, and travellers are urged to check road conditions before heading out.
