A fundraiser has been launched for the family of Crystal Johnson-Clementi, a beloved local bartender who died after a crash in Southborough.

Johnson-Clementi, 37, of Leominster, died Feb. 20 after suffering injuries in a car accident, according to her obituary

Born in Florida, Johnson-Clementi later moved to Massachusetts, where she graduated from West Boylston High School before attending Plymouth State College, according to the obituary.

She worked as a bartender and shift manager at the Horseshoe Pub & Restaurant in Hudson.

Johnson-Clementi is survived by her husband of seven years, Paul Clementi, and their son, Dominic Clementi. She also leaves behind two sisters, two brothers, two nieces, and three nephews, according to the obituary.

One of her nieces started a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with expenses. As of Friday, the fundraiser had raised more than $46,000 — about 94% of its goal.

“Crystal was such a loving soul and would do anything for anyone, without hesitation. Crystal was one of the most amazing humans to ever walk the earth,” her niece wrote in the fundraiser description. “She was strong, bold in her beliefs. She stood for what was right, fought for the people she loved, and loved deeply.”

Johnson-Clementi had previously beaten breast cancer before her death, according to the obituary.

“Her radiant spirit, wit, and determination touched countless lives,” the obituary states. “Crystal lived fiercely, always fighting for what mattered, and her legacy will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.”
