Free public transport announced for Ed Sheeran concert tonight

Adelaide, get ready to sing it loud for pop superstar, Ed Sheeran.

Adelaide Metro is offering free public transport to all ticketholders heading to and from the show. From 2pm until the last service, concertgoers can hop on buses, trains and trams at no cost, simply flash your ticket to staff when boarding and you’re good to go.

With more than 50,000 Sheerios expected to descend on the city for the Loop Tour, it’s set to be one of Adelaide’s biggest nights of the year. Think stadium-wide singalongs, loop pedal wizardry and those heart-melting acoustic moments Sheeran does so well.

The Australasian run kicks off in Auckland before weaving through major cities including Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, finally landing in Adelaide for what promises to be a glittering stadium spectacle.

Announced by Frontier Touring and MG Live back in July, Sheeran’s return will see the beloved singer-songwriter play a string of shows across January, February and March next year—following the release of his upcoming album Play, due out Friday 12 September.

With over 2.5 million tickets already sold across previous visits to Australia and New Zealand, Sheeran’s latest stadium tour promises a refreshed, high-energy set blending his biggest chart-toppers with the expansive sound of Play. The album—led by hit singles AzizamSapphire and Old Phone—marks a vibrant new chapter for the artist, drawing inspiration from Indian, Persian and Irish folk influences.

The tour will kick off in Auckland before making its way through Wellington, Christchurch, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, before landing in Adelaide Oval.

This is Sheeran’s first major tour since the record-breaking Mathematics Tour, where he played to 200,000 fans across two nights at the MCG in 2023.

The show is expected to feature a mix of loop pedal magic, full stadium singalongs, and intimate acoustic moments—all signature elements of Sheeran’s boundary-pushing live performances.

So chuck on the merch, warm up those vocals because when Ed comes to town, the only thing you should be thinking about is singing every word.
