Adelaide will enjoy a stretch of settled, sunny weather through the remainder of the week and into early next week, as a ridge of high pressure maintains stable conditions across southern parts of South Australia.
Today, Thursday 5 March, the city is forecast to reach a top of 26 degrees under mostly sunny skies, with just a 5 per cent chance of rain. Light winds will become southwesterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon before turning south to southeasterly in the evening. The UV Index is predicted to reach 10, rated Very High, with sun protection recommended between 9:50am and 5:00pm.
Sunny conditions will continue on Friday, with a minimum of 15 degrees and a maximum of 27 degrees. There is no rainfall expected. Light winds will become west to southwesterly at 15 to 20 km/h during the early afternoon before tending south to southeasterly in the evening.
Saturday will bring more sunshine, with temperatures ranging from 15 degrees to 27 degrees and only a slight 5 per cent chance of rain. South to southeasterly winds will increase to 15 to 25 km/h.
The settled pattern extends into Sunday 8 March and Monday 9 March, both forecast to be sunny with maximums of 27 and 26 degrees respectively, after cool starts in the mid-teens.
A warmer change is expected on Tuesday 10 March, with the temperature climbing to 30 degrees under sunny skies. By Wednesday, conditions will turn slightly more unsettled, with a minimum of 20 degrees, a maximum of 32 degrees and the chance of a shower or two as a cold front approaches mid next week.
Most of South Australia will remain dry, though isolated light showers are possible about southern coasts, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East at times, along with the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Maximum temperatures are generally forecast to remain near or below average, with fresh south to southeasterly winds at times, particularly near the coast.
