Pakistan Women’s Team Return in Limbo After South Africa Tour

The Pakistan women’s cricket team’s return home from South Africa is in jeopardy due to ongoing cross-border tensions in the Middle East and the closure of airspace in the region.

The national team is scheduled to depart from Durban for Pakistan via Dubai on Monday night after completing their ODI series earlier today. However, instability in the Middle East has led to the closure of several airports, creating uncertainty around the team’s travel plans.

According to sources, the team will begin its return journey only after a formal announcement confirms the resumption of flight operations in the region.

If the airspace and airport closures continue, the team may be required to extend its stay in Durban.

Pakistan toured South Africa for a three-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. The hosts won both series 2-1.

Despite losing the series, Pakistan ended the white-ball tour on a strong note with a commanding 119-run victory over South Africa in the third ODI at Kingsmead in Durban.

Batting first, the Green Shirts posted a total of 306/8 in their 50 overs. The innings was anchored by half-centuries from Sadaf Shamas and captain Fatima Sana.

In response, Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a collective performance, dismissing South Africa for 187 in 36.2 overs to secure the win.
