Anime Adaptation of Gintama Creator’s Dandelion One-Shot To Premiere on Netflix in April

Dandelion, the angel-themed debut one-shot from Gintama‘s Hideaki Sorachi, has gotten an anime adaptation that will debut on Netflix this April. A teaser visual offers a look at the character designs.

The anime stars Chikahiro Kobayashi and Megumi Han as the Japanese Angel Federation members Tetsuo Tanba and Misaki Kurogane, respectively. The two are part of the Send-Off Department that assists spirits who struggle to move on.

Daisuke Mataga (Sabikui Bisco assistant director) is directing Dandelion at NAZ. The production credits also include Yosuke Suzuki (A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation) as series composer, Ai Asari (Sabikui Bisco co-character designer) as character designer, and Atsushi Ikariya (Sabikui Bisco) as assistant director. 

The Dandelion one-shot was first released in Issue 42, 2002 of Weekly Shonen Jump. It was recognized at the 71st Tenkaichi Manga Awards with an Honorable Mention award.
