Students and staff were evacuated from a South Shore school Thursday after the building’s roof showed “signs of structural stress,” the school said in a statement.
“Students are safe and well, and we appreciate your support as we work to provide a full day of learning for students,” the school said.
Students and faculty of Plymouth River School in Hingham were bused to Hingham High School “out of an abundance of caution” after the elementary school’s roof began showing signs of “structural stress” due to a large accumulation of snow, the school wrote.
Lunch and transportation home were provided by the high school. Students who usually take a bus home were brought from HHS to their usual bus stop, the school said.
