A recall alert has been issued for a seaweed seasoning product amid concerns it has been contaminated with plastic.
The Food Standards Australia New Zealand body issued the alert on Wednesday for Kagro NSW Pty Ltd’s Pinkfong Seasoned Seaweed Flakes 40g which has been available in Korean grocery stores in NSW and the ACT.
The packet has the use by date of 20 August 2026.

It is being recalled as plastic is present in the product.
“Food containing plastic may cause injury/illness if consumed,” FSANZ said in a statement.
“Consumers should not eat this product.

“Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
