FRINGE: House Sessions delivers a curated best-of from the creators of 27 Club and other Fringe faves

House Sessions is set to land at Adelaide Fringe as a high-energy music showcase that distils four major productions into one seamless night, bringing the standout moments, voices and stories from each into a single curated club-style experience.

Created by Amplified House, the team behind 27 Club, Twenty Sixteen and Simply Brill, the new show is designed to solve a familiar Fringe problem: too many great shows, not enough time. Instead of choosing, audiences can experience the best elements of each production in one hit, with a live band, rotating artists and a format built to feel like a musical tasting plate.

Hosted by cabaret powerhouse Amelia Ryan, House Sessions blends rock tributes, pop nostalgia, diva energy and classic songwriting into one performance. It pulls highlights from four headline productions 27 Club, Twenty Sixteen, Diva Down Under and Simply Brill. Plus, there are a few exciting teasers of new works currently in development.

The result is a night built around big voices and instantly recognisable songs, but also the storytelling and emotional beats that made each original production resonate with audiences in the first place.

“House Sessions is our way of bringing everything we do into one room,” says Ryan. “It’s electric, it’s curated, and it’s a bloody great night out. If you’ve ever opened the Fringe guide and needed a lie down — this is your answer.”

Each segment carries the identity of its original show. 27 Club brings its celebrated rock legacy and larger-than-life performances honouring the artists who left us at 27. Twenty Sixteen leans into the emotional weight of a year that reshaped modern music, paying tribute to icons like Bowie, Prince and George Michael. Diva Down Under injects glitter, theatricality and powerhouse vocals from some of Australia’s most recognisable female voices, while Simply Brill taps into the golden era of the Brill Building, celebrating the songwriters and hits that shaped the 1960s.

Together, they create a journey across decades, genres, and styles — from high-octane rock to intimate storytelling. The result: a world-class show, jam-packed with variety.

The format also doubles as a preview platform for the industry, offering presenters and programmers a chance to see touring-ready productions in one sitting while audiences get a front-row introduction to Amplified House’s catalogue.

With partial support from Create SA, House Sessions is positioned not just as a one-off Fringe event, but as a concept designed to continue throughout the year. The club-style atmosphere encourages discovery, giving audiences the opportunity to revisit familiar favourites while uncovering new musical works in the same night.
