With exciting flavours, out-of-the-box ideas, and a dedicated community behind them, it’s no secret that Cheeky Cheesecakes is turning the traditional idea of a cheesecake shop on its head. Following the success of their flagship store in Newton, this new chapter for owner David, aka Mr Cheesecake, promises to be even cheekier than the last.
One look at their social media is enough to see that the Cheeky Cheesecakes team is here for a fun time. From skits and collaborations with major online creators to devising viral products and menu items featuring nostalgic, childhood-inspired flavours like Pistachio Papi and Biscoff, this small Adelaide business is high-energy and light-hearted, and customers feel that the moment they walk through the door.

“Our main focus is about giving and making people feel welcome. [The new location] will be a great hangout spot. We’re pet-friendly as well, so if you bring your pets in, they get treated like royalty — we do complimentary pup-cups and pup treats. Kids under the age of five also get a complimentary babychino.”
Cheeky Cheesecakes aims to harness the best of both worlds: keeping their finger on the pulse while maintaining a strong, community-minded attitude. When asked about their growing online presence, Mr Cheesecake pointed to recent visits from large-scale creators.
“We do a lot of collaborations and we’re really open to that. We’ve had the Reese Bros visit our shop, and Jay Webby a food collaboration here.”
But those visits are only a small piece of the pie — or should we say, cake. At its heart, the business is about creating a space where anyone can feel welcome, at any time.
“We’re open from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday. It’s really important for us to have those extended opening hours so we can offer convenience — whether that’s for a last-minute birthday cake, a date night, or an anniversary.”
For the new King William Street location, Mr Cheesecake has plans to go beyond being just a dessert stop. The store will host a DJ out front on weekends, showcasing local music talent and creating a lively atmosphere, perfect for a coffee catch-up or a refuel after weekend run club.
What truly sets this new instalment apart, however, is a cheeky addition to the menu: dessert cocktails. We’re not quite sure what to expect from the upcoming cocktail list just yet, but when cheesecake and cocktails appear in the same sentence, it’s safe to say taste buds are in for a treat.
Mr Cheesecake gave us an exclusive insight into the new ‘high-end’ details of the store. Complete with a La Marzocco coffee machine built into the marble walls, and luxurious gold-fittings throughout, Cheeky Cheesecake Hyde Park is sure to be bigger and better than the last.
“It’s going to be a different, more high-end, luxury vibe. Lots of gold details, very modern. It’s going to be very, very sleek.”
To check it out for yourself, stay tuned for more information to come in the coming months.
