AFL royalty descend on MCG for Final Siren: Inside the AFL global premiere

The world premiere of Final Siren: Inside the AFL turned the iconic venue into a glitzy launch pad for Prime Video’s new sports docuseries.

Melbourne captain Max Gawn, Western Bulldogs star Marcus Bontempelli and recently retired Fremantle great Nat Fyfe led the player contingent, joined by AFL leadership and streaming executives for the global debut.

The series tracks seven elite players through the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership season, capturing both the public spectacle and private toll of top level footy.

Produced by Box To Box, the team behind Netflix hit Formula 1: Drive to Survive, the series promises unprecedented access aimed at showing the human side of the competition.

Cameras followed Gawn, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Toby Greene, Touk Miller, Cam Rayner and Dayne Zorko across one of the most fiercely contested seasons in recent memory.

The premiere comes ahead of a worldwide launch later this week, positioning the distinctly Australian AFL alongside other global sports that have found new audiences through documentary storytelling.

For the league, it is also a chance to showcase its personalities beyond match day highlights and press conferences.

Final Siren: Inside the AFL features never before seen footage from the 2025 season, including deeply personal moments away from the field.
