The Nippon Sangoku TV anime has gotten a new trailer and a main visual,
The former introduces more characters and previews the newly announced theme song “Hidane” by Tatsuya Kitani.
Also revealed were the show’s April 6 (effectively April 7 at 1 AM JST) broadcast start date and the following cast members:

• Yuichi Nakamura as Yasuaki Kaku
• Taihi Kimura as Fuji III

More staff credits were revealed as well, among them Seiki Tamura (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2) as the background art director, Yuko Kobari (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2) as the color designer, Hayato Kifune (Goddess of Victory: Nikke anime PV co-compositing director) as the compositing director, and Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss) as the music composer.
Prime Video announced at the same time that it will exclusively stream Nippon Sangoku (with the subtitle The Three Kingdoms) outside Japan starting on April 6.
Nippon Sangoku is an adaptation of the manga by Ikka Matsuki. The synopsis reads:
In a near-future Japan where civilization has regressed due to nuclear war, natural disasters, and corrupt governance.
The nation fractures into three, plunging into a new Three Kingdoms era as each vies for supremacy.
Aoteru Misumi, once an obscure local bureaucrat, sets his sights on the reunification of Japan.
Armed with vast knowledge and exceptional eloquence, he steadily rises.
The legend of the man later known as the prodigious strategist begins now.
The manga began in November 2021 and has six volumes as of 2024. It is serialized on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE.
