Awards season undoubtedly turns the volume all the way up on shimmer, sculpted cheekbones and hair that’s been crafted over at least a couple of hours. Wedding season shows no signs of slowing down either and the red carpet and mandap seem to be borrowing from each other when it comes to beauty inspiration.
This week’s standout looks had vintage romance, heirloom-inspired tradition, high-gloss glamour and just enough drama to provoke flashing cameras. From Sonam Kapoor’s kohl-rimmed eyes to Priyanka Chopra’s cherry-cola waves, here’s how the week unfolded.
Priyanka Chopra embraced experimentation with her hair coloured in layered, dimensional shades with deep brunette melting into berry and emerald green underlights. Styled in textured, slightly undone waves, it carried a distinctly pirate-esque energy, hinting at a larger cinematic moment. The makeup stayed classic with warm terracotta blush, bronzed eyes and rose pink lips that let the hair and silhouette command attention.
Sonam Kapoor embraced tradition with a thick gajra wrapped around a centre-parted sleek bun, while generous lines of kohl defined the eye perimeter. The rest of the face was kept elegantly balanced with muted rose tones on the lips and eyes and a light coral blush. It was a reminder that traditional makeup, when done precisely, always wins.
Hair was the main accessory in Ananya Panday’s wedding guest look as bouncy waves framed her face. The makeup leaned into flushed cheeks with blush placed generously alongside highlighter. Glossy brown-pink nude lips added a sheen, while subtle eye shimmer kept the glam high.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu made a strong case for glimmery evening eye makeup. Smokey brown lids topped generously with shimmer caught the light without overwhelming the rest of her face. Paired with structured brows and neutral base and lip tones, the sparkle felt grown-up rather than playful. Perfect for the red carpet that demands a little extra shine.
Anupama Parameswaran channelled an old-world glamour that felt straight out of a black-and-white classic. The curly loosely structured updo, accented with red roses framed her profile beautifully, while her luminous skin and defined brows kept the look contemporary. Nude beige lips, contoured cheeks and smudged out wings added character to the look, nodding to yesteryear heroines without feeling like costume.
Aneet Padda’s eye makeup was all about creating depth. A toned-down smoky lid was elevated with a silver-white glimmer tracing the lower lashline. The rest of the look was pared back with minimalistic, natural-looking base products and coral glossed lips, allowing the eyes to remain the focal point.
Malavika Mohanan leaned into simplicity with a neatly pulled-back bun, adorned with flowers and the makeup was kept matte and fuss-free. A softly smoked liner, a hint of warmth on the cheeks and a natural rosy lip felt inspired by tradition, yet entirely suited to the current appetite for skin-first beauty.
