New England winters work hard, but the marketing team at Dunkin’ works harder, as evident in the coffee chain’s latest promo.
Beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, Dunkin’ customers can score a limited-edition branded “iced coffee glove” with the purchase of any iced beverage. In a blog post announcing the release, Dunkin’ described the freebie mittens as “a little insulation for your sipping hand.”
“At Dunkin’, we’ve got a soft spot for the guests who love their iced coffee no matter what the weather’s doing,” the chain explained. “This winter, we’re making it a little warmer to keep sipping.”
The mittens will be available at participating Dunkin’ locations while supplies last. A representative for Dunkin’ confirmed the chain will only offer left-handed gloves.
Rumors about the unusual promo spread online earlier this week, generating buzz in Dunkin’ fan groups and online pages dedicated to brand freebies and deals. In a teaser posted to TikTok, an employee at a New Jersey Dunkin’ location described the left-handed glove as “perfect for when you get your iced beverage and you take your selfie at the same time.”
The glove is also “a playful badge of honor for the Team Iced faithful all year round,” Dunkin’ explained in its announcement. The giveaway follows a winter-inspired Dunkin’ merch drop, which includes a full-body ski suit in Dunkin’s signature orange and magenta.
“So on Friday morning, swing by your nearest Dunkin’ to grab your glove while supplies last — because whether winter means snow boots for you or just too-cold AC, keep that sipping hand warm,” Dunkin’ said.
