Jarren Duran Reflects On 2025 Season As Red Sox Camp Opens

Jarren Duran is eager to move past his 2025 season and get back to his All-Star form.

Duran was still solid in 2025 as he hit .256, but it didn’t match his stellar 2024 campaign when he was an All-Star. So, entering spring training, Duran admits that last year was a disappointment, but it’s something he’s ready to move on from.

“I’m always disappointed in myself,” Duran said on Monday. “I always feel like I don’t do the best that I can do. I feel like I let the fans down sometimes, or my teammates. But it’s a new year, so you just have to flush it and go out there and do my thing.”

Duran is expected to mix between left field and the DH with Roman Anthony. He will also play right field in spring training, as he will play the position in the WBC.

“Hopefully we can get him in games, playing that position, get him ready,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said.

“If he’s going to play right field (in the WBC), he better be ready, because it’d be hard for me to be watching a game and then all of a sudden he gets hurt because he wasn’t prepared for that.”

Regardless of his past season, Duran is excited to make an impact for the Red Sox and help Boston get back to the playoffs.
