Medalist Season 2 Adds 4 New Cast Members

Four new cast members have been announced for the ongoing second season of Medalist. Season two first premiered in Japan on January 24, 2026. 

The four new cast members joining the series include: 

  • • Natsuki Hanae as Kakeru Uobuchi 
  • • Konomi Inagaki as Miku Ahiru 
  • • Shoya Ishige as Kohei Kamogawa
  • • Yuki Ono as Juna Shiratori

They join a main voice cast that consists of: 

  • • Natsumi Haruse as Inori Yuitsuka
  • • Takeo Otsuka as Tsukasa Akeuraji
  • • Kana Ichinose as Hikaru Kamisaki
  • • Yuma Uchida as Jun Yodaka
  • • Makoto Koichi as Rioh Sonidori
  • • Taito Ban as Shinichiro Sonidori

Yasutaka Yamamoto is directing the anime’s second season, with Jukki Hanada as series composer and Chinatsu Kameyama as character designer and co-chief animation director. ENGI is in charge of the animation production.

The first season aired for 13 episodes from January 2025 to March 2025. Hulu streams the anime in the U.S. and Disney+ streams it in other countries and territories. An anime film will premiere in 2027. 

The anime adaptation is based on the ice skating manga series by Tsurumaikada, which was first serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine on May 25, 2020. Fourteen tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of January 2026.

Kodansha USA licensed the Medalist manga series for English print and digital release, and describes the main premise as:

Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream…and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice…on the world’s stage!
