Nine Perth has today confirmed that Olympic medallist and broadcaster Alicia Molik will join the 9News Perth flagship bulletin as weekend sport presenter, beginning Saturday at 6.00pm.
A household name in Australian sport, Molik reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 and claimed Grand Slam doubles titles at the Australian Open and Roland Garros.
She also remains the only Australian to win an Olympic singles medal in tennis, earning bronze at the 2004 Athens Games, before transitioning into broadcasting and most recently helping anchor the Nine Network’s coverage of the Australian Open.

Molik said joining 9News Perth is a privilege and an opportunity to stay connected to the sporting stories that matter most locally and nationally.

The appointment strengthens the 9News Perth sports line-up, with multi award winning journalist Paddy Sweeney continuing to lead weeknight coverage, while 9 News Perth Director of News Michael Genovese said the signing is a major boost for viewers.
