Alt-pop singer/songwriter Maggie Lindemann first came into PHILTHY’s world in 2021… She was about halfway in between her debut EP (2021’s PARANOIA) and debut LP (2022’s SUCKERPUNCH) and currently on the road as direct support for Madison Beer’s The Life Support Tour, where her nine-song set proved to be the highlight of the evening for the jaunt’s October 26th stop at Theatre of Living Arts. Maggie’s performance closed with the local live debut of “she knows it,” which officially dropped that Friday and went on to become the lead single of SUCKERPUNCH. Just prior to the official drop, Maggie talked to me about the single (which she describes as “Big gay vibes.”), befriending idols (most notably Sleeping with Sirens’ Kellin Quinn), and growing up on dad rock.
Last October Maggie Lindemann released i feel everything, her sophomore LP and follow-up to SUCKERPUNCH, which features The Warning (“let me burn”), Max Fry (“it’s still you”), and our buddy Julia Wolf (“2022”). “If you’re looking for a new album that targets every emotion you’ve ever experienced, Maggie Lindemann has got you covered. The alternative-pop singer’s latest project… charges at you headfirst with themes of heartbreak, obsession, insecurity, and anger written all over it… the album darts from pop punk to dark electropop, tied together cohesively by Lindemann’s versatile vocal performances,” wrote Ones To Watch, while Lindemann, in an August chat, told Atwood Magazine, “I lost myself so badly and the process of grieving yourself and someone else is so apparent in this album. From feeling joy and love, to anger, acceptance, patience, forgiveness, all of it. I want this era to be remembered as a pivotal moment in MY own healing and self-rediscovery.”
This coming Tuesday, February 17th, Maggie Lindemann kicks off the i feel everything Tour, which will have Lindemann headlining our very own Brooklyn Bowl (which boasts the same capacity as her local show supporting Madison Beer) on February 28th. Following more than a month of US dates, Maggie will take the tour to the UK and Europe in March and Australia in May.
