A Massachusetts police department is offering a different kind of Valentine’s Day delivery, and it isn’t from Cupid.

In a tongue-in-cheek Facebook post Thursday, the Uxbridge Police Department encouraged residents to turn in exes with outstanding warrants.

“Roses are red, violets are blue… If your ex has a warrant, we’ve got something special for you,” the post begins. “This Valentine’s Day, give the gift that really delivers — a ride with flashing lights and guaranteed closure. Love fades. Warrants don’t.”

The post features a pink, heart-covered flyer — complete with a jail cell graphic — asking, “Have an ex with a warrant?”

“We can’t fix your love life, but we *can* help with outstanding warrants,” the flyer reads, urging residents to send them their exes’ whereabouts.

“We’ll make sure they get a Valentine’s Day visit,” the flyer continues, along with the department’s main phone number.

The post garnered nearly 7,000 likes and more than 400 comments, mostly from community members amused by the Valentine-themed initiative.

“I’ve never loved social media more than when police started coming to the party,” one person wrote. Another added: “You guys are unhinged and I’m here for it.”

Similar Valentine’s Day-themed warrant reminders have popped up from police departments in other states, including New Hampshire, OhioNebraska, and New York.

Boston.com has reached out to Uxbridge police to ask whether the post led to any arrests and will update this story if more information becomes available.
