Publisher Alphapolis has announced that it has acquired the shares of 3DCG company NIA Animation and made it a wholly owned subsidiary.
NIA Animation, which was founded in 2021, shares production cooperation credits on the upcoming Fist of the North Star: Hokuto no Ken anime. it has also worked on The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You and The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie.
The move is meant to support Alphapolis’s anime aspirations, with the publisher saying that the acquisition will speed up adaptations of its own IPs and contribute to the expansion of its anime business. The latter is seen as a key point of its mid-term strategy.
Last July, Alphapolis became the owner of animation production studio WHITE FOX, which produces the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime.
Alphapolis’ titles include GATE, May I Ask for One Final Thing?, Observation Records of My Fiancée, A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai, The New Gate, Re:Monster, Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, and many more.
NIA Animation was established in 2021. Its president is Atsushi Koishikawa, who founded Sublimation, another 3DCG studio.
