Kyoto Animation’s Sparks of Tomorrow Reveals More Cast

More cast details for the new Kyoto Animation TV anime Sparks of Tomorrow have been revealed.

One of the names joining main duo Yuma Uchida (playing Kihachi Sakamoto) and Sora Amamiya (Inako Momokawa) is Koki Uchiyama. Uchiyama plays Yosuke Mizoe, an engineer who is engaged with Inako as part of his plan to find a book called the “Electricity Catalog.” 

Others include Daisuke Ono as Kihachi’s brother Seiroku Sakamoto, Shunsuke Takeuchi as ex-military man Kengo Kuga, and Minako Kotobuki as Inako’s sister and Kengo’s fiancée Noriko Momokawa.

Sparks of Tomorrow (20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku: Eureka Eureka) is based on a 2018 book written by Hiro Yuki and illustrated by Kazumi Ikeda (Clannad character designer). The adventure tale, set in an alternate steampunk Kyoto in the Meiji era, will premiere on Netflix in July. 

 

The book is published under KyoAni’s KA Esuma Bunko label. It received an honorable mention at the 8th Kyoto Animation Awards.
