Team Rawalpindi Signs Star Australian Batter for PSL 11

Team Rawalpindi has directly signed the explosive Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk for the upcoming 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), set to take place from March 26 to May 3.

The 23-year-old, known for his aggressive approach at the top of the order, joins the side as a direct signing for Rs. 6.00 crore after going unsold in the league’s inaugural player auction held at Lahore’s Expo Center.

Fraser-McGurk had been listed among the highest base-price players at Rs. 4.20 crore but did not attract a bid in either the main or accelerated rounds.

Despite the auction snub, the Rawalpindi franchise moved quickly to add the highly rated batter to their squad. The signing fee has not yet been disclosed.

Fraser-McGurk has represented Australia in eight T20 Internationals and built a strong reputation across global franchise leagues, including the IPL, Major League Cricket, and the Big Bash League. In 98 T20 matches, he has scored 1,852 runs at an impressive strike rate of 149.11, registering 11 half-centuries.

The signing comes amid a transition phase for the Rawalpindi franchise, which recently came under new ownership following an independent valuation of PSL teams after the tournament’s 10th edition.

Although the PCB briefly assumed control, the team was later sold in response to strong investor interest generated by the addition of new franchises.

Ahead of the auction, Rawalpindi retained Mohammad Rizwan, Zaman Khan, Yasir Khan, and Sam Billings, while entering the draft with a full purse of USD 1.6 million. Fraser-McGurk now becomes their marquee addition as they look to rebuild for PSL 11.
