Recently, Areeka Haq gave an interview to Fuchsia Magazine in which she questioned the growing trend of girls seeking only well-settled men for marriage.
Responding to Rabia Mughn’s question, “Have girls today become materialistic?” Areeka Haq said, “Yes, girls today have become materialistic. However, I believe girls should only be materialistic or demand a well-settled man if they themselves are stable, independent, or settled. They can’t randomly demand that a man should earn a certain amount while they just sit at home doing nothing—watching Netflix all day. My question to them is, ‘What effort have you put into your own career?’ If you are worthy of something, then you can demand anything from your spouse. It’s also okay to build a career together.
