New Venue to Reportedly Host PSL 11 Matches

The 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) matches could be played in Peshawar at the Imran Khan Stadium for the first time in the tournament’s history, after the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee reportedly approved hosting league fixtures in the provincial capital following a recent security review meeting.

Peshawar is home to Peshawar Zalmi, one of the PSL’s most popular franchises, yet the city has never hosted PSL matches since the league began in 2016.

The reported approval has reignited hopes of bringing top-level T20 cricket to the city, especially after recent upgrades to the Imran Khan Stadium, which have improved facilities and infrastructure at the venue.

While neither the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) nor the PSL management has issued an official statement so far, excitement grew after Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi appeared to hint at the development on social media.

“ALHAMDULILAH PSL IN PESHAWAR #PSL11,” Afridi wrote on X, a post widely interpreted by fans as confirmation that PSL 11 matches may finally be staged in the city.

If confirmed, the move would give Peshawar Zalmi a home ground for the first time, a milestone moment for the franchise and its supporters. More importantly, hosting PSL matches could also pave the way for international cricket to return to Peshawar, a region that has long awaited regular high-profile games.

For now, fans will be waiting for an official announcement from the PCB, but the latest developments have already sparked optimism that PSL 11 could mark a historic first for cricket in Peshawar.
