Kodansha is celebrating 30 years of the Ghost in the Shell franchise by hosting its first large-scale exhibition in Japan, honoring its legacy across manga, anime, film, and more. The exhibition first opened on January 30, 2026 and will run through April 5, 2026 at the TOKYO NODE gallery, located in Tokyo’s Toranomon Hills skyscraper complex.
The Ghost And The Shell exhibition gathers over 1,600 archives, original artworks, and manuscripts, which include “never-before-seen materials” from across the franchise’s history. It includes contributions from directors Mamoru Oshii, Kenji Kamiyama, Kazuchika Kise, and Shinji Aramaki. Inclusions from Science SARU’s upcoming The Ghost in the Shell anime series will also be highlighted.
