Perth woman dies after vehicle crashes into Rivervale house, driver arrested

A woman has died after a car ploughed into a Perth home overnight, with the driver now in police custody.

The 53-year-old was inside the Alexander Road home in Rivervale, in Perth’s inner eastern suburbs, when a yellow Ford Falcon veered off the road and ploughed through the house at about 11.40pm on Friday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but the woman died from her injuries.

The 36-year old male driver and a 43-year old male passenger escaped the crash uninjured.

The driver was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations into the fatal crash are ongoing, with police appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
