Adelaide will see much more manageable conditions over the weekend, with largely sunny conditions and warm temperatures, while more unsettled and potentially severe weather continues to affect parts of northern South Australia.
Today will be sunny with a maximum of 33 degrees. Winds will shift through the day from east to southeasterly before turning west to southwesterly during the morning, then easing again by late afternoon. Fire danger remains high in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and sun protection is essential, with UV levels reaching extreme.
Tomorrow is forecast to be mostly sunny, with temperatures climbing to 35 degrees following a mild overnight minimum of 16 degrees. Winds will be light early before settling into southeasterly breezes, keeping coastal areas marginally cooler. Similar conditions continue into Sunday, with another mostly sunny day and a top of 33 degrees, alongside light to moderate southeasterly winds.
Conditions gradually ease early next week. Monday is expected to be sunny with a more comfortable maximum of 31 degrees, followed by a warm 33 degrees on Tuesday under clear skies. By Wednesday, temperatures sit around 31 degrees with a chance of a shower developing later in the day. A cooler change is forecast for Thursday, bringing partly cloudy skies and a top of 25 degrees.
Across regional South Australia, a trough moving south over the weekend is expected to trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms across the pastoral districts, Flinders and northern agricultural areas, with storms potentially becoming severe and producing heavy rainfall. Forecast rainfall totals through to Monday include widespread falls of 30 to 50 millimetres across pastoral districts, with isolated totals of up to 100 millimetres possible. Northern agricultural and Flinders districts may see 10 to 30 millimetres, while southern agricultural areas are likely to receive minimal rainfall.
Residents, particularly those in northern and inland regions, are advised to stay alert to changing conditions and monitor official warnings as the system evolves. Up-to-date forecasts and alerts are available from the Bureau of Meteorology.
Happy Friday!
