Wellington Phoenix have announced the return of All White Sarpreet Singh after seven years in Europe, including a stint at Bayern Munich.
Singh returns to New Zealand from Serbian club FK TSC, where he signed in the 2025 off-season.
Prior to that, Singh had been at Portuguese club União de Leiria after five years in Germany that included a season at 2. Bundesliga club Hansa Rostock and four years at European giants Bayern Munich.
Singh mostly featured in the reserves for Bayern, and was loaned to 1. FC Nurnberg and Jahn Regensburg.
Singh’s return to the Phoenix takes him back to his first professional club, where he first signed in 2015 after an impressive showing for New Zealand under-17s.
After showing his wares for the Wellington reserves, Singh debuted for the senior side in February 2017, two days prior to his 18th birthday.

Singh, who has 24 caps for the New Zealand national side, will bring some attacking flair to the Phoenix midfield and is excited by what the club can still do:
“I’m very happy to be back,” Singh said on the club website.
“The club means a lot to me, and I can’t wait to get started and meet everyone.
“The most important thing for me is to be in an environment where I’m enjoying it, having fun and being able just be free on the field.
“That’s when I play my best football and believe Wellington provides the best environment for that for me.
“The Phoenix have also made some good signings, and the club is really pushing hard to get to the finals.
“I feel like the group of players that have been put together now can do something special and I want to be part of that.”
