A car was hit by a MBTA train on Sunday after the vehicle broke down on the train tracks, the Transit Police Department said.

A 2007 Honda was struck by an MBTA train around 8 p.m. near Plymouth St. in Abington after the car broke down on the train tracks, Transit Police said. 

The 35-year-old driver got out of the car and left the area, then the train collided with the unoccupied car, police said.

There were no casualties or injuries, Transit Police said.
