Officer Scott MacIsaac has died after a battle with cancer, the organizer of a Gofundme wrote.
An active-duty Boston police officer has died after a being diagnosed with cancer in 2025, said the department and a GoFundMe dedicated to the officer.
Officer Scott MacIsaac died on Friday, BPD said. He was diagnosed with cancer last year and is survived by his wife and three children, according to the description for the GoFundMe.
MacIsaac started with BPD in 1995 and was assigned to West Roxbury for the past 6 years, previously working in Districts B-2, A-7, B-3 and C-6, said the department.
MacIsaac served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Catholic Memorial High School in 1989, said the GoFundMe.

During his career, MacIsaac received commendations for his work during the Boston Marathon bombings, an incident where he helped prevent a person from jumping off a bridge, and a time he saved someone’s life with CPR, among other accolades, the department wrote.
“Clearly, Officer MacIsaac made a great impact in the communities he served,” Boston police said. “Office MacIsaac was highly regarded by those he worked with, his supervisors and all who knew him, both within the Department and by those we serve.”
A funeral will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home at 9 am. on Thursday, February 5, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St., West Roxbury, said MacIsaac’s obituary.
