Stating that the 2026-2027 Union Budget has answered the criticism of the Congress government in Karnataka, Union Minister for Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday said that the devolution for Karnataka from the Centre in 2026-2027 will be ₹63,049 crore.
“The State government was complaining about the reduced devolution from the Centre. The 16th Finance Commission has recommended a share of 4.13% to the State, and the State will receive ₹63,049 crore in the 2026-2027 financial year. The 15th Finance Commission had recommended 3.64%,” the Union Minister said in a statement after the Budget.
“This Budget has not disappointed Karnataka. Stimulation has been provided for coconut production, and an announcement has been made to make cocoa and cashew premium brands by 2030. Schemes for sandalwood, coconut, and cocoa will help the State,” Mr. Kumaraswamy said, adding that the State will benefit from highspeed rail corridor to Hyderabad and Chennai. “The budget is a clear indication for Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he added.
Janata Dal (Secular) Youth president Nikhil Kumaraswamy termed the six-year mission for Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in pulses with 100% MSP as a game changer for Karnataka’s “toor bowl”. “From Kalaburagi to Bidar, our Annadaathas are now at the heart of India’s self-reliance journey,” he said on social media platform ‘X’.
