The United States (USA) has announced its squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, and one notable name is missing.
Despite earlier reports linking former Pakistan fast bowler Ehsan Adil with selection, he has not been included in the final USA squad for the global tournament.
Adil, who represented Pakistan in international cricket between 2013 and 2015 and has built a strong domestic record, was widely expected by fans and commentators to feature in the USA lineup. Reports earlier in January suggested he had been named in an expanded USA squad and was part of the touring group preparing in Sri Lanka.
However, his name does not appear in the final squad released for the World Cup, making his absence a significant omission from a team built around continuity and returning experience.
Led by captain Monank Patel, the USA squad includes 10 players who were part of the team at the 2024 edition of the tournament. The United States will be making their second appearance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after reaching the Super 8 stage on debut in 2024.
