Everyone’s talking about getting licked, and no, it’s not what you’re thinking.
The cheeky reference is an ode to Lickd Cafe, a new addition to Torrensville’s cafe scene, and already making a name for itself, with a rep that will have you “licking your lips.”
The venue is quite literally a hole in the wall, located on Henley Beach Road. The small five square metre shop can’t be missed with its signature red and pink colours coating the interior of the not-so-hidden, hidden spot.
They officially opened their window in early December, offering free coffee for the first seven days of business – talk about a way to get customers to the door.
Owner Tom Kosmidis, was given the opportunity to buy the small space. “The purpose of the shop is to create and explore dessert-style drinks with caffeine,” he said.
The drinks, which come in one of those pre-sealed cans, are fast becoming a cult favourite. “We’re selling over 200 cans a day, and even cracked the 300 mark on Saturday.”
The coffee shop front was inspired by his partner, who, along with Tom’s daughter, picked the colour scheme and logo.
“It is a beautiful spot,” he said. “Sexy, slick, (it’s) a hole in the wall made for ultra quick service with products you leave licking your lips with.”
Speaking of delicious products, their menu is loaded with coffee, matcha, protein shakes and recently loaded teas, which aren’t just your average iced beverage.
The loaded teas are sugar-free, under 24 calories and made with aloe vera, electrolytes and vegan-friendly, making them dangerously easy to sip – or skull. The loaded tea range includes mango and passion fruit flavours, but for something a little more fun, try the Cosmo or skittle bomb.
The matcha flavours range from your normal to fruitilicious choices like strawberry, blueberry and mango matcha. Classic coffee is a go to option for many passing by, but the team encourage you to try the Biscoff iced latte, iced caramel coffee, strawberry babe or pistachio shake.
“The most popular items so far are the strawberry match, iced Biscoff latte and the pistachio puppy, which contains a shot of coffee,” Tom said.
