Jahan Sultana, also known as Noshaba Bibi, is a very famous PTV drama artist, mainly known for portraying Pashto characters in old dramas. The actress has also worked in Pashto radio. Noshaba’s association with Pashto radio and PTV spans over several decades. She hails from Swat and has always appeared on television with her head covered. Recently, Noshaba Bibi gave an exclusive interview to the digital media channel Yazziastic, where she opened up about her child marriage.
Talking about it, Noshaba Bibi said, “I didn’t get any time for a job or career because I got married at the age of 12, and at the same age, I started working on television. I was playing with dolls when I got married. One day, I was told there was a wedding at home. I was just given a lipstick, after which I forgot everything, because lipstick was my weakness. I sat down happily among friends and got married. Back then, kids used to be clueless about what marriage was. When all the guests left, I asked my sister-in-law to send me back home. There was a 23-year age gap between us; he was my Khala’s son. My khala industry for this marriage. I was fourteen when I became a mother. I have three sons and a daughter.
