Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar receiving an award from Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, at the National Voters’ Day celebrations in Vijayawada on Sunday.
Chittoor district has won State-level recognition, securing second place for excellence in electoral management during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The award was presented to District Collector Sumit Kumar at the 16th National Voters’ Day celebrations, at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Vijayawada, on Sunday.
Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand conferred the award, in appreciation of the district’s effective electoral mapping and efficient execution of the SIR process.
Chittoor district was commended for its systematic voter data verification, accurate electoral mapping, and coordinated efforts by the district election machinery, which ensured transparency and strengthened the electoral roll.
The award ceremony was attended by Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav and former State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sumit Kumar said the achievement was the result of coordinated teamwork by the district election administration, and reaffirmed the commitment to further improve electoral processes.
