An anime film adaptation of the Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to light novel has been announced with a July 17 release date as well as a “super” teaser visual and trailer.

The two leads of the movie are Shori Sato of the idol group timelesz as Makoto Natsume and Nanoka Hara as Aki Hayama. Meanwhile, the production credits include:

The premise of Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to sees high schooler Makoto getting unexpectedly involved with Aki, a girl he has never met before. Since she was a child, Aki had been told by her great-grandmother that she would one day meet someone called Makoto Natsume, and the two leads attempt to uncover the mystery behind the old fireworks artwork that Aki possesses. The plot also involves a past promise that “transcends 81 years.”
The light novel, written by Kaori Mado and illustrated by Akamoku, was released on December 18, 2025 under Shogakukan’s GAGAGA Bunko label.
