Panic broke out in Mandi district on Saturday morning after a massive landslide struck barely a foot behind a moving bus, forcing terrified passengers to flee the vehicle. A sudden collapse of the hillside sent large quantities of mud and stones onto the road, temporarily blocking traffic and causing long jams on both sides, while a video of the incident went viral on social media. The bus narrowly escaped being hit and plunging into a gorge, as the alert driver sensed the danger, applied brakes and reversed in time. Administrative and police teams reached the spot soon after, debris removal was started using heavy machinery.
