Kannada literature has long embodied scientific and rational thought, evident even in Adikavi Pampa’s Adipurana, said Karnataka Sahitya Academy President L. N. Mukundaraj.
Addressing a Science Literature and Communication Camp jointly organised in Bengaluru by the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy and Karnataka Sahitya Academy on January 21, Mr. Mukundaraj highlighted Pampa’s depiction of life evolution.
Psychiatrist Dr. C. R. Chandrashekar, inaugurated the camp. During the event, his book “Our Health, Ourselves” was launched.
Speakers underlined the rich tradition of science writing in Kannada, from ancient scholars to modern writers, stressing the need to prioritise science literature today.
About 70 persons participated in the camp.
