Key challenges related to traffic management, road safety and infrastructure development across Cyberabad were reviewed during a traffic review meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Public Safety Integrated Operations Centre of the Cyberabad commissionerate.

The meeting focused on identifying long-term and immediate solutions to traffic congestion, particularly in high-density and fast-growing areas. Officials discussed the need to identify and rectify accident-prone black spots and to improve junction management through closer coordination between traffic personnel and engineering agencies.

The Cyberabad Commissioner M. Ramesh, who chaired the meeting, laid special emphasis on easing congestion on the Outer Ring Road and in the IT corridor, where peak-hour employee movement continues to strain existing road infrastructure. The discussions included a hybrid approach combining automated systems and manual regulation to manage traffic at busy junctions, along with measures to streamline vehicular flow during rush hours.

Infrastructure-related issues such as the construction of underpasses, flyovers and foot overbridges, road widening works and the creation of free left-turn lanes were also reviewed. The meeting underlined the importance of pedestrian safety through the development of footpaths, skywalks, service roads and dedicated lanes to ensure safer commuting options.

Officials also took stock of recurring waterlogging issues on major roads and reviewed the progress of drainage repairs and road restoration works. Steps to strengthen traffic surveillance and enforcement, including the installation of CCTV cameras, repair of existing traffic signals, installation of new signals, railings and variable message signboards, were discussed in detail.

The meeting was attended by Madhapur Traffic DCP Sai Manohar, Medchal Traffic DCP Ranjan Rathan Kumar, Madhapur Traffic Additional DCP G. Hanumantha Rao, Medchal Traffic ADCP Veeranna, Madhapur Traffic ACP Chandrasekhar Reddy, Medchal Traffic ACP Venkat Reddy, Kukatpally Traffic ACP Venkataiah, Balanagar Traffic ACP Giriprasad, along with traffic inspectors and other traffic personnel.
