Love Velo Vines is a day-to-night celebration, perfectly timed to coincide with the Santos Tour Down Under and featured as an official event in the Santos Festival of Cycling Associated Events calendar. From 2:30pm, the gates will swing open for a super relaxed, open-air garden party.
Whether you’re nuts for cycling or just there for the atmosphere (which is sure to be electric), you’ll have a front-row seat to the action. The THINK! Road Safety Men’s Stage 4: Brighton to Willunga Hill will be streamed live on the big screen, so you can catch every moment of the iconic climb while lying out on the grass with a drink in hand. And if you’ve spent the day roadside at Willunga Hill or around McLaren Vale, this is the perfect place to roll into after the finish and keep the celebration going.
Naturally, food and wine look to be fantastic. Gin, beer, and soft drinks will be available to purchase, together with Richard Hamilton and Leconfield wines, and easy picnic-style food designed for grazing on all afternoon.
Add live music, a crowd of locals and those travelling for the event, and a cracking weekend of weather, and you’ve got the ultimate afternoon affair.
Running until 9pm, Love Velo Vines is an easy yes for Tour Down Under fans, wine lovers and anyone looking for a quintessentially South Australian way to spend a summer afternoon. The Garden Party is free to attend, making this one you’ll want to mark in your calendars!
