Here’s How Much Pakistani Athletes Earned in Govt Cash Prizes

The federal government has awarded a total of Rs. 206.45 million in cash prizes to Pakistani athletes for their exceptional performances during the 2024–25 fiscal year, according to details presented in parliament.

Official government documents show that national javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem received the highest award, amounting to Rs. 152 million, while his coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, was awarded Rs. 10.6 million.

Among other major recipients, World Snooker Champion Muhammad Asif received Rs. 2.5 million for his title victory. He was also awarded an additional Rs. 500,000 for winning a gold medal at the SAARC Snooker Championship.

In the Asian Under-21 Snooker Championship, bronze medalist Ahsan Ramzan received Rs. 500,000, while Muhammad Naseem Akhtar was awarded Rs. 100,000 for winning bronze at the SAARC Snooker Championship.

Players who won the South Asian Regional Table Tennis Championship collectively received Rs. 1.45 million in cash awards.

Athletes who secured medals at the Special Olympics World Winter Games were awarded a total of Rs. 3.05 million.

In squash, players who won the Asian Junior Squash Championship received Rs. 1.75 million, while winners of the World Under-23 Individual Squash Championship were awarded Rs. 7.5 million.

Meanwhile, athletes who earned medals at the Asian Open International Taekwondo Championship received cash prizes, making Rs. 11.5 million.
