Pakistan secured their first win of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026 after beating Scotland by six wickets on Monday at Takashinga Sports Club, Highfield.
Chasing 188, Pakistan U19 got a steady start before Ollie Jones struck twice early. Ali Hassan Baloch was bowled for 15 (33) with the score on 43, and opener Sameer Minhas fell soon after for 28 (30), which included three fours.
Pakistan recovered through a match-winning third-wicket stand between Usman Khan and Ahmed Hussain. The pair added 111 runs, taking Pakistan beyond 150 and placing the chase firmly in control.
Usman anchored the innings with 75 (85), hitting five fours and two sixes, before being dismissed by Manu Saraswat. Hussain, closing in on a half-century, was also removed by Saraswat for 47 (92) with three boundaries.
Captain Farhan Yousaf then finished the job, staying 18 (11)* as Pakistan reached the target in the 44th over.
Earlier, Scotland were bowled out for 187 after a shaky start. Pakistan pacer Ali Raza struck twice in the opening over and finished with 4/37, while Momin Qamar took three wickets. Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan picked up one each.
