Destiny Udogie’s £150,000 Range Rover broken into during football match as fans blame ‘Sadiq Khan’s London’

Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie returned to his vehicle following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham at home, only to discover criminals had targeted his luxury car.

The 23-year-old defender, who remained on the bench throughout the match, found the rear window of his £150,000 Range Rover completely destroyed.

Broken glass was scattered throughout the vehicle’s interior.

When Udogie inspected the boot, thieves had taken almost everything.

Only a clothes hanger and a carton of water were left behind.

In a social media post after the break-in, the player sarcastically wrote: “Yeah, goodnight.”

It comes after the player was allegedly involved in a confrontation at gunpoint by a football agent in a separate incident in September.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers detained a 31-year-old man on September 8 in connection with the case.

The suspect faced allegations of possessing firearms with intent, blackmail, and operating a vehicle without a valid licence.

Following his arrest, the individual was released on bail as the investigation continued.

In a statement after that alleged attack, Spurs said: ‘We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so.

“Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment any further.”

Reacting to the Range Rover break-in, former player Darren Carter said: “Impossible. Sadiq Khan said London is safe, low on crime and the best city in the world.”

The comments reference the London Mayor’s claims that London is now “one of the safest cities in the western world.”

The Tottenham defender arrived in the capital from Udinese in the summer of 2022 for £15m on a five-year deal.

He later returned to the Serie A club on a season-long loan.

Defending the Mayor’s figures, Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley declared “London is safe” as he promised to crack down on “dangerous men” in the capital.

He told GB News: “We’re targeting the most dangerous men, repeat offenders in domestic violence or stalking cases and throwing everything we have at protecting women and children.

“Nobody should be overly concerned about walking the streets of London. London is a safe city.

“It is because the brilliant men and women of the Met are bearing down and targeting the most dangerous.

“This is such good news that this is the lowest per capita homicide rate London has ever seen, it’s fantastic news.”
