Medalist is based on the Kodansha-published manga by Tsurumaikada, which began serialization in seinen magazine Monthly Afternoon in 2020 and will releases its 14th volume in Japan on January 22, 2026. Kodansha USA describes the manga as such:
Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream…and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice…on the world’s stage!
Season 2 of the anime began broadcasting on January 24 (effectively January 25 at 1:30 AM JST). The first season aired during the Winter 2025 anime season. Disney+ (Hulu in the US) streams the show.
