One-Punch Man Season 3 is set to continue in 2027 with a second cour. The first cour premiered on October 5 (effectively October 6 at 12:45 AM JST).
The anime adapts the Shueisha-published manga drawn by Yusuke Murata, which follows the comically overpowered superhero Saitama in a world of heroes and monsters. The first season (directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse) came out in 2015, while the second season (directed by Chikara Sakurai at J.C.STAFF) followed in 2019. Season 3 was announced in 2022.
The One-Punch Man manga is serialized on the seinen manga site Tonari no Young Jump. It began in 2012 and has 35 volumes as of October 2025. VIZ Media describes the synopsis as such:
Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?
The manga is inspired by the self-published web manga by ONE, which started in 2009.
