Synopsis:- Two Indian precision manufacturers are emerging as key suppliers to Rolls-Royce, supporting its plan to double India sourcing by 2030. High-value aerospace components, zero-defect deliveries, and long-term engine programs highlight India’s rising role in global defence and aviation supply chains.
Rolls-Royce, the British aero-engine and advanced engineering giant, is planning major growth in India by making it its third strategic “home market” after the UK, US and Germany. It aims to invest in jet engine development, naval propulsion and defence manufacturing, partnering with Indian firms to build cutting-edge capabilities locally.
Here are two stocks that supply automotive and aerospace components to Rolls-Royce.
Azad Engineering is a high-precision engineering company specialising in complex components for aerospace, defence, energy, and oil & gas sectors. With a strong export orientation and long-term global OEM relationships, the company benefits from rising defence indigenisation and increasing demand for advanced, mission-critical components.
With a market capitalisation of Rs 10,615.95 crore, the shares closed at Rs 1,643.80 per share, decreased around 0.04 percent as compared to the previous closing. As per the recent Investor Presentation, Azad Engineering Ltd entered into a long-term partnership with Rolls-Royce Plc, London, after being selected as a qualified supplier of high-precision civil aircraft engine components.
The agreement allows Azad to manufacture and supply complex machined parts and supercritical components across the life cycle of Rolls-Royce’s engine programs, strengthening its aerospace footprint.
Bharat Forge is one of India’s largest forging companies, supplying critical components to automotive, defence, aerospace, and industrial sectors globally. Backed by strong engineering capabilities and diversification beyond autos, the company is well-positioned to benefit from defence orders, infrastructure spending, and manufacturing growth.
With a market capitalisation of Rs 69,083.81 crore, the shares closed at Rs 1,445.00 per share, increased around 0.18 percent as compared to the previous closing. The partnership between Bharat Forge and Rolls-Royce is a long-standing one, dating back to 2020 when the UK aerospace major first sourced components for the Pearl 700 engine program from India. Over the years, the collaboration has deepened, marked by Bharat Forge delivering its first zero-defect fan blade in early 2024.
The latest agreement to manufacture fan blades for the Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines reinforces this established relationship. It aligns with Rolls-Royce’s goal to double sourcing from India by 2030, while highlighting Bharat Forge’s growing role as a trusted, high-precision supplier in global aerospace manufacturing.
