Shangri-La Singapore is the first hotel on Orchard Road to have a dedicated programme offering a range of luxury family experiences for families with young ones. Known as buds by Shangri-La, it is an interactive play space located on the first floor of the hotel’s Tower Wing. This is complemented by deluxe family rooms and themed family suites in the same building. The suites are designed to the concepts of safari, treetop, castle, underwater, and space.
Spanning 1,872 square metres in total, buds by Shangri-La features specially curated installations both indoors and out, taking little ones on a journey of discovery. Themed activity spaces encourage fun while learning: Muddy is for budding artists who like to make a splash, Stage is a music studio for young performers, and Bake is a fully equipped cooking classroom for children and parents. Those under four will enjoy the specially designed Toddler Zone, with swings and slides, a piano floor, soft wall buttons that produce animal sounds, a ball pit, and vintage kiddie rides.
In 2020, the hotel added an outdoor water playground with specially designed aquatic amenities and six unique water play areas. From meandering around lazy rivers to sliding down vertical drops on the slides, splashes with water sprouts and jet cannons, to shallow wading pools for aspiring little swimmers, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
If that wasn’t enough, the hotel also offers a range of top tier childcare amenities from Stokke including car seats for airport transfers, strollers, travel cots and high chairs. Smaller items like bath time toys, bibs, thermometers, potties, diapers bins, and sterilisers can also be provided.
