13 new SA bars, restaurants and businesses that opened in December

As December comes to an end and we head into what looks to be a very exciting 2026, it’s time to look back on the fantastic businesses Adelaide welcomed this month. From quirky gelaterias and jewellery stores to beach bars and brunch spots, here are 13 great new spots to check out!

Bami & Co.

Bami & Co. is the newest venture from the team behind Bami, the Adelaide Vietnamese street-food success story that went from a humble van in Marion to more than 20 stores nationwide.

This marks their 21st store, and while it still serves the classics, that’s about where the similarities end. Bami & Co. ushers in a new era for Vietnamese dining in Adelaide, an elevated experience that aligns with the luxury Burnside precinct.

Cassandra Mamone Atelier

North Adelaide has welcomed a beautiful new addition to South Australia’s luxury design scene with the official opening of the Cassandra Mamone Atelier. Located at 23 Centenary Street, just steps away from O’Connell Street, the Atelier is a full-circle return to the suburb where Cassandra Mamone first established her studio years ago.

Grazy Dayz Cafe

If you’re on the hunt for a new go-to brunch spot, a new cafe in the Barossa Valley is serving up a feel-good mix of classic brekkie, mouth-watering lunches and of course, coffees. There’s a fresh buzz to Grazy Dayz, which held a soft launch earlier this month, inviting locals to drop in for a sweet drink, coffee and plenty of friendly hellos from the new team.

Where: 5 Gray St, Freeling, SA, Australia, 5372

Kohko Beach Bar

Born from sun-drenched summers on the Greek island of Kos, KOHKO Beach Bar is bringing a slice of Mediterranean magic to South Australia’s coastline, with its first-ever Australian beach club residency landing at Silver Sands Beach this summer.

Where: End of Norman Road, Aldinga Beach foreshore

Local Kitchen Co.

Heat-and-eat hero Local Kitchen Co. has officially opened its fifth store, bringing its delicious, homestyle meals to Port Elliot just in time for the summer surge and the Christmas chaos. Like the popular Parkside location, the Port Elliot offshoot will also operate as a cafe with all the delicious goodies and coffee available in-store.

Where: 1/34 North Terrace, Port Elliot

Messina

This December, Gelato Messina opened the doors to its second South Australian store in Glenelg, and with it came the signal and joy that summer has officially begun.

Omada

Omada is a new Greek-inspired Bar and Grill that has arrived with all the anticipation you’d expect for a restaurant by some of Adelaide’s hospitality heavyweights. But unlike the brooding masculinity of Shōbōsho or the high-brow, high-glam Fugazzi (both Kardachi sibling venues on Leigh Street), Omada feels immediately warm, familiar, and deliberately unfussy.

Pasticcino Bar e Caffè

For the team behind Pizza Reggina, it turns out pizza was only half of the dream. After a string of recent trips back to Italy, co-owners Domenico and Vince realised what they missed most wasn’t the trattorias, it was the pasticceria culture. The sweet breakfasts. The late-night desserts. The shiny cakes, crunchy cannoli and espresso are served standing up at the bar.

South Coast locals are in for a treat this summer, with the Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club announcing not one, but two new beachside offerings. Percy’s Cafe, Bar & Kitchen is opening upstairs in early to mid-December, and the Barefoot Bar, a relaxed, volunteer-run beachfront bar is already popping up on warm weekends.

Pia’s

Pia’s officially opened on Broadway in Glenelg South this December. While she may be the Italian baby of a proudly Mexican parent, she’s already showing off a personality all her own. Sun-lit spritzes under bright orange umbrellas, airy pizza crusts begging to be dipped, and that cosy, lived-in feeling once thought only found at Nonna’s house. It lives at Pia’s, and so does the Glenelg foreshore.

SOMMA

Three-sip punchy cocktails, pottery from a Cypriot village, a soulful bouzouki soundtrack, and a fresh take on family recipes. SOMMA has been transporting Norwood crowds straight to the Mediterranean this month.

The Palais Hotel Deck Bar

Over the past few months, Semaphore’s beloved Palais Hotel has been undergoing a quiet facelift. Now, just in time for summer, they’ve revealed their new look with a perfectly coastal, outdoor bar.

The Wholesale Furniture Co.

If you’ve been putting off updating your space because of price tags, long backorders, or the effort of bouncing between multiple stores, this new furniture store might just be the circuit-breaker.

The Wholesale Furniture Co., Australia’s biggest furniture wholesaler, has officially opened its first-ever SA superstore on Port Road, bringing genuine wholesale pricing and an entire warehouse’s worth of quality pieces direct to the public.
