Crunchyroll announced today that the Crunchyroll Anime Awards will return to Tokyo, Japan on May 23, 2026, which will be celebrating its 10th edition since its first ceremony in 2017.
Voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira are returning as co-hosts for the fourth straight year.
The company also revealed the first music lineup for the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Japanese singer Yoko Takahashi will perform a 30th anniversary tribute to the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, featuring its opening theme “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis.”
Additionally, symphonic suites will accompany the ceremony presentations, which will be conducted by Hirofumi Kurita, performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and arranged by Kazunori Miyake. More musical performers will be announced at a later date.
Nominees across 32 categories for this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be revealed on April 2, 2026, alongside the start of global fan voting. The nominees in each category will be selected from eligible titles that premiered between January 1, 2025 to December 31 in 2025 by the 2026 Anime Awards judges.
The global pre-show preceding the ceremony will be hosted by Crunchyroll’s Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu. The Crunchyroll Anime Awards will also once again be livestreamed for global audiences.
